定义 $\left(\dfrac{d}{P}\right)=\left(\dfrac{d}{p_1}\right)\cdots\left(\dfrac{d}{p_s}\right)$，这里 $\left(\dfrac{d}{p_j}\right)$（$1\le j\le s$）是模 $p_j$ 的 Legendre 符号，我们把 $\left(\dfrac{d}{P}\right)$ 称为 Jacobi 符号。

If $P$ is a positive odd integer with prime factorization $P=\prod p_i^{a_i}$, the Jacobi symbol $\left(\frac nP\right)$ is defined for all integers $n$ by the equation $\left(\frac nP\right)=\prod_i\left(\frac n{p_i}\right)^{a_i}$, where $\left(\frac n{p_i}\right)$ is the Legendre symbol.
